Primary focus is on the control and treatment of inorganic and organic waste from chemical process industries. Waste minimization methods with specific examples such as rinse water circuit design. Principles and design of treatment methods: chemical treatment, precipitation, biofiltration, adsorption and absorption, sedimentation, coagulation and flocculation, ion exchange and membrane separation. Treatment of organic aqueous waste. Overview of NOx and SOxcontrol. Indoor air quality assessment techniques.
